  1. Established 13 new Government District Libraries at (1) Thane; (2) Ratnagiri; (3) Raigad; (4) Jalna; (5) Nasik; (6) Pune; (7) Kolhapur; (8) Dhule; (9) Mumbai City; (10) Beed; (11) Nanded; (12) Satara; (13) Mumbai-Suburban District
  2. Constructed 4 New Buildings for the Government Divisional Library at (1) Aurangabad; (2) Nagpur; (3) District Library Nagpur and (4) Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Reference Library at Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri;
  3. Installed the adequate number of computers in the State Central Library and the Computerisation of Library is taken up.
  4. Sanctioned grants for purchase of Computers to 40 aided District, Taluka and Other Libraries for their house keeping services under the existing rules;
  5. “The Best District Library Award’ for the Western Zone of India was received by the Government Divisional Library, Aurangabad (1999), Sarvajanik Wachanalaya, Nasik (2000) and Wadia Sarvajanik Wachanalaya, Beed (2003) from Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata
  6. Acquired the land for the construction of new building for the (1) State Central Library, Mumbai; (2) Government Divisional Library, Amravati; (3) Government District Library, Thane; (4) Government District Library, Ratnagiri; (5) Government District Library, Satara; (6) Govt. District Library Pune and; (7) Govt. District Library Nandurbar.
  7. Sanctioned building grants to 200 grant-in-aid public libraries in the state under the existing rules
  8. Donated Cupboards/ Racks to 510 and 62 xerox machines to public libraries in the state under the scheme of RRRLF in the year 2008-09
