Future Plans

  1. Decentralisation of work :- Establishment of 15 Government District Libraries in the remaining Districts of the State and de-centralisation of the work of Directorate from Division to District level.
  2. Computerisation :- Buildup database and union catalogue of Books in Govt. Libraries and to establish Networking of State Central Library, Government Divisional Libraries and District Libraries in the State.
  3. Construction of New Building :- for the State Central Library at Kalina Mumbai, on BOT basis, Government Divisional Library at Amravati, Government District Library, Thane, Akola, Chandrapur,   Yeotmal, Ratnagiri and Satara;
  4. To March for 'Gaon tethe granthalaya' establishment of 1250 new public libraries in the State during the year 2009-10.
  5. To extend reading services :- To extend services of State Central Library, Divisional and District libraries in the State to the prisoners, patients and blinds in the State.
